Overview

Dr. G. Sivasankar is one of Tamil Nadu's most distinguished Senior Consultant Urologists and Medical Academicians, with over three decades of experience in tertiary urology, academic medicine, and institutional leadership. A graduate of Stanley Medical College and Madras Medical College, Chennai, he holds an FRCS from Edinburgh (1998) and anMCh in Urology — among the most prestigious qualifications in surgical urology globally. He served as Director and Professor of Urology at Madras Medical College, and as Dean of Chengalpattu Government Medical College — leading landmark institutional transformations including achieving 100% undergraduate pass results and the Best Rural Medical College Award. He has trained over 150+ postgraduate MCh students, many of whom now hold senior academic and clinical positions across India. Dr. Sivasankar is also a co-author of the landmark British Journal of Urology paper on Povidone Iodine sclerotherapy for Chyluria (1998) — now the globally accepted standard of care for this condition. He currently serves as Professor and Head, Department of Urology at ESIC Medical College and Hospital, K.K. Nagar, Chennai, while also seeing patients as a Senior Consultant at SIMS Hospital — bringing unparalleled academic and surgical expertise to his patients.
