Dr. Kumar J S is a distinguished Professor, Head of Department of General Medicine, and Consultant Diabetologist at SRM Medical College, SRMIST, with over 25 years of extensive experience in internal medicine and advanced diabetology. He also serves as Associate Dean of PG Academics and Diabetology-in-Charge at SRM Medical College. Dr. Kumar completed his MD in Internal Medicine from Sri Ramachandra Medical College, followed by a Graduate Diploma in Diabetes Care from the University of Newcastle, New South Wales, Australia, and was conferred the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (FRCP) in 2023 — one of the most prestigious recognitions in medicine globally. A certified insulin pump provider trained at the Joslin Diabetes Center, Boston, USA, and with additional training in Endocrinology at Beth Israel Hospital, New York, Dr. Kumar is a nationally and internationally recognized clinician, researcher, and academician in diabetes management, metabolic disorders, and internal medicine. He has over 65 peer-reviewed publications and holds a published patent in non-invasive glucose monitoring technology.
